St. Valentine day / St. Sargis in Artsakh / Armenia

Meanwhile the lovers all over the world celebrate the day of St. #Valentine on February 14, in #Armenia people in love have the holiday devoted to their patron, general St. Sargis.

This holiday is also announced as the day of the youth blessing.

It is celebrated 63 days before the #Easter, on a #Saturday between the January 18 and February 23.

According to the tradition Sargis was a military commander who was martyred for Christian faith.
His son Martiros & 14 brave fighters also died.

After that commander Sargis was sanctified by Armenian Apostolic Church and became the patron & defender of all lovers.💙💛

On the morning of the holiday the saint liturgy takes place in all the churches that are named St. Sargis where the ceremony of blessing the youth takes place as well.

Besides the religious ritual, the popular traditions are interesting and especially loved among people.

According to those traditions the young people eat salty patty in the evening of the eve of the holiday.

According to the tradition they should not drink water after eating it in order to see their future bride or bridegroom in the dream who will serve them a glass of water..

It is accepted to put a tray with flour or porridge made from fried flour in the balcony or on the roof of the house waiting for Saint Sargis to come on his white horse and leave the trace of horse-shoe.

As the legend says Saint Sargis should pass with his angels & the person on whose tray he will leave the trace of the horse-shoe, his or her cherished dream will come true in the same year.

In Armenia great celebrations, pilgrimages & holiday events accompanied by songs and dances, are taking place throughout the holiday. On that day it is especially crowded in the “Lovers’ Park”, which is calling for the young people & loving couples who exchange souvenirs, holiday cards and candies as a sign of their love.

New Tumo Center to Open in Koghb

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Tumo Center for Creative Technologies & Koghb Education, Culture & Sports Development Fund on opening a Tumo Center in the northeastern village of Koghb.

Executive Director of Tumo, Marie Lou Papazian, said the center will stand out with its new equipment & modernity.

“This initiative will allow spreading Tumo in smaller communities. The Tumo center of Koghb will involve not only the youth of Koghb, but also from Noyemberyan, Berdavan & nearby villages, who will be able to specialize and get modern skills, as well as work in the future online or on spot,” she said.
According to the schedule, the process will begin in 2018, & is predicted to have at least 600 students..
The Tumo Center for Creative Technologies is a free-of-charge digital media learning center for youth in Yerevan, Armenia.Since its opening in 2011, the center has provided thousands of students aged 12–18 an open environment where they can use the latest in digital tools, learn from media professionals, and explore the intersection of technology and art.

Falsification of historical facts around Tigran Honents church of Ani by Turkey

Addressed to the Ministry of Culture &Tourism of Turkey, to UNESCO, to UN, to European Heritage Convention

Committee & worldwide intelligence: this policy of Turkey about the falsification of historical facts & incomplete reconstruction of the Tigran Honents church of Ani thrusts a wedge into the culture & friendship of neighboring countries. Being historically Armenian capital & residence for various nations, Ani remains an Armenian landscape, which is documented in historical information & our present lithography. The 17 frescoes of the church contain images that depict the torments of the first patriarch & the founder of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Gregory the Illuminator, that are the vivid proves of the church's national & religious belonging. Announcing that Ani is a historic area of cultural diversity, Turkey deviates the international community from our main demands; & thus creates an environment of cancelling them. But we are particularly concerned by the fact, that while being reconstructed, the church has been proclaimed as Chalcedonic & thus this is escalating disputes & conflicts in Georgian – Armenian age-old friendship. 

We demand from the Turkish responsible institutions of the sector that they:

• avoid proclamations about the historical belongings of the church
• add “Armenian Christian church” name into the sign put nearby the church
• finish & not to abridge the church dome construction & announce the process & objectives for further work.
• avoid escalating cultural conflicts between Armenia & Georgia. The issue has received wide public attention because of the sign installed nearby the church that presents the church as Georgian Chalcedonic.

We are confident that our Georgian brothers have a friendly approach to this issue & are ready for reinstating historic justice that can be reached through professional & public debate and dialogue. 

We live in a region where any problem can be solved through dialogue if we just face them.

All Male - Women’s Rights Conference in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s laughably prestigious University of Qassim played host to one of the biggest women’s rights conferences in the Arab world. 

Ironically, the institution managed to hold the event without the advice or attendance of a single woman.

Themed around the topic of “Women in Society” the conference, originally intended to be held annually at the University, is supposed to set a benchmark for tolerance & progress in the region..

Delegates & speakers from more than 15 countries showed up.

As is to be expected from Saudi Arabia, a country with a twisted interpretation of Sharia Law, 0 women attended the event.. At least not in the same building as the men..

Saudi Arabia is still ranked 127th out of 136 countries for gender parity.

Berat Albayrak, a son-in-law of Erdogan, has been appointed as the energy minister, while Ali Babacan, the once popular & powerful head of the economy, was not included in the list.

No Borders Activists RAPED by sudanese migrants – The others asked me to keep quiet

The ‘No Borders’ activist had dedicated a month of her life to helping migrants. Her group was stationed between Italy & France in Ventimiglia..

One Saturday, as loud music played, the woman around 30 years of age, was reportedly trapped in a shower block set up near the camp in a pine forest know as Red Leap. A gang of sudanese migrants allegedly raped her there. Her cries for help have gone unheard because of the music..
The woman, would have reported the horrific crime were if not for her fellow left-wing activists, who convinced her that if the truth got out it could damage their utopian dream of a world without borders..

The others asked me to keep quiet..

Colleagues are alleged to have said that reporting the crime would set back their struggle for a borderless world..

Liberals claim to be pro-woman, but they’ll happily leave women to rot if women get in the way of their agenda..  for these people, the agenda is a borderless world.
