The Royal Library of Denmark
was inaugurated on the occasion of the 500 anniversary of the Armenian Book Printing & Yerevan Book Capital 2012, declared by UNESCO (www.yerevan 2012.org).
The rare Armenian books for the exhibition have been provided by the Royal Library of Denmark where about 3000 Armenian books are kept in different collections of the library’s huge heritage. Most of the books have been printed between 1500-1700 AD & were presented as gifts to Danish Monarchs & Members of the Royal Families.

The oldest book of the Exhibition is “Gregorian calendar” published in 1584 in Rome & “Book of Psalms of David the king & prophet in Armenian” published in 1666 in Amsterdam which was presented as a gift to the Danish King Frederick III by an orientalist Theodore Petraeus.
